Welcome to spring 2025! While the vibes are mixed, per usual, the planets will give us the opportunity to learn, grow, and change for the better. Those adjustments aren’t always easy, but there are plenty of ways to take care of yourself through the chaos. Here’s what we’re in for once the spring equinox hits on March 20th.

We begin the astrological year of 2025 as we always do, with Aries season. And this one starts with a bang. More specifically, we’ll be in the thick of two major planetary retrogrades.

Venus, which has been retrograde since March 1st, continues to backslide. On March 27th, the planet ruling romantic love and creativity enters the sign of Pisces, heightening emotions and making us extra sensitive until April 12th.

Mercury retrograde has also been causing a ruckus since March 15th. And on March 29th, the planet of communication and technology moonwalks into intuitive Pisces. Despite the mess, this is a good time to listen to your gut as you process new information.

On the same day Mercury enters Pisces, we’ll have a solar eclipse in Aries. Unlike the lunar eclipse in Virgo on March 14th, which asked us to lean into mindfulness, the solar eclipse in Aries is all about action. Don’t be surprised if an eclipse-fueled shake-up inspires you to pursue the things you’ve wanted for a while.

On March 30th, Neptune, the planet of spirituality and idealism, also enters fiery Aries. That transit invites us to fight for our dreams and do the self-discovery work it takes to learn more about ourselves.

Taurus season commences on April 19th, allowing us to embrace our creativity. Some of us might even see our hard work finally pay off.

Once we get to May, our sights will be set on ~healing~ as Pluto begins its five-month retrograde, starting on the 4th. This is a great time to look back on the last several months and think about how far we’ve come and what still needs our attention. If you allow yourself to get into your feels, it can be a very cathartic period.

Then on May 20th, we kick off Gemini season and welcome more playful vibes.

Austere Saturn, known for its strict nature, moves into Aries on May 24th, urging us to be more assertive. It’s a good time to ensure you’re taking all the necessary measures to reach your goals.

Starting June 9th, Jupiter, who’s been traveling through the sign of Gemini for the first half of 2025, swims into Cancer. And the planet of expansion and luck is happy there. This will be the perfect opportunity to tune into our emotions and offer compassion to those who need it (including ourselves).

JSYK, how these planetary transits impact you depends on your birth chart, or a map of the planets that shows where they were in relation to your time and place of birth.

Below, you can see what all this means for you based on your sun sign or your rising sign—both good indicators of how these will affect you. Plus, you’ll get insights on the best way to take care of yourself while it all goes down.

Aries

As a fire sign, it’s easy for you to push through, be bold, and keep up appearances by default. But with all the transits happening in your sun sign this March (Venus retrograde, Mercury retrograde, and the solar eclipse), it’s time to shift gears.

Your self-care assignment is vulnerability. Be honest about your feelings, ask for help, and try to go with the flow. It’s not easy, but rethinking how you respond to change can help you redefine the terms of your life and make new rules.

Taurus

The Venus retrograde wants you to reassess your friendships, Taurus. Once your ruling planet (Venus) ends its backward spin in Pisces on April 12th, you’ll likely find that the quality of your people is more important than the quantity.

Still, it’s important for you to show up for those you care about too. This spring, think about the ways you can care for the people you love. How can you be more supportive, nurturing, and compassionate? Taking care of your community is a way to care for yourself.

Gemini

Ah, Mercury retrograde. When the planet that rules communication, technology, and your sun heads backward, it’s never easy. This time around, from March 15th to April 7th, you’ll feel as chaotic as ever.

During this time of tech fails and miscommunications, do your best to reflect on how things have been going. Getting grounded via park walks and journaling could be just what you need to get your bearings. Don’t be surprised if this Mercury retrograde delivers new ideas.

Cancer

Your career is the focus of this season, Cancer. And while you might be on a path toward attaining major status in your field, you’ll first need to reassess whether your job and values align. The solar eclipse on March 29th and the Mercury and Venus retrogrades are all asking you to do exactly that. Think about your professional visions for the future, your life goals, and whether the road you’re on still makes sense.

Take these next couple of months to reflect on what you want. By June 9th, when expansive Jupiter enters your sun sign, you’ll have the clarity you need to see those goals through.

In the meantime, reflecting on what’s important to you, or your values, can usher in some clarity. Spend time journaling or just chatting with a friend about the stuff you’d like to prioritize moving forward.

Leo

Don’t freak out, but Pluto is here to help you evolve this spring. When the planet of secrets, transformation, and healing goes retrograde on May 4th, feelings you’ve avoided may start to resurface.

Take this time to rethink how you deal with big emotions. Are you proactively journaling, talking to trusted friends, or seeing a mental health professional? Or are you pushing it all down and hoping for the best?

If it’s the latter, this is your chance to find coping skills that will help you process and manage feelings like jealousy and anger.

Virgo

It’s been a lot lately, Virgo. The lunar eclipse in your sun sign on March 14th, the Mercury retrograde in Aries and Pisces, and the Venus retrograde (also in Aries) have shaken things up for you.

It’s exhausting, but it’s also an opportunity for you to reflect on the types of relationships you want in your life and your communication skills. Looking back is often one of the best ways to move forward.

Plus, the Aries solar eclipse on March 29th will give you the opportunity (and the energy) to shake off whatever isn’t working.

As you settle into this new chapter, set some goals for yourself. How do you want this new astrological year to feel? How can you accomplish that?

Libra

Venus and Mercury’s retrograde through Aries this spring is hitting your house of partnerships hard. Whether it’s your business partner, your best friend, or your romantic partner, March is a great time to rethink those relationships.

The solar eclipse in Aries in early March only amplified the drama and likely made you realize how important emotional intimacy is. Love that for you, Libra.

While finding moments of closeness in those tight relationships is important, don’t forget about the one with yourself. Prioritize quality alone time when you can, and get to know yourself as well as you know your loved ones.

Scorpio

When Pluto, your ruling planet, retrogrades on May 4th, it’s time to embrace the things you don’t love about yourself. As the planet of secrets, transformation, and hidden truths, the Pluto retrograde wants you to reconsider what you hide from the world.

This is the perfect time to do a little shadow work, acknowledging the parts of yourself that feel embarrassing, shameful, or imperfect and embracing them (within reason).

You could try to speak up for yourself even though you’re afraid of being too much. Or tell someone you trust something you’ve been ashamed about. Whatever you do, make self-compassion the priority.

Sagittarius

Jupiter in Gemini, the sign opposite your sun, may be dimming your shine, Sag. Since the planet of expansion and progress will remain there until June 9th, these last few months of the transit are asking you to take stock of all the good stuff in your life.

Between now and June, start a regular gratitude practice. Making lists of what went well today, naming all the things you’re thankful for before bed, or celebrating your wins—even the ones you’d normally shrug off are all fair game. Relish your accomplishments. Savor the moments that spark joy.

Capricorn

When Jupiter enters Cancer on June 9th, you can expect to see big changes in your love life. This is the time to be clear about what you want in romantic and platonic relationships and suss out anyone who isn’t throwing green flags.

To get started, think about the things you value most in yourself, in other people, and in relationships in general. Taking stock of what’s important to you will help clarify who’s aligned and who isn’t—and they’re also a great self-discovery tool.

Aquarius

With Pluto retrograde in your sun sign from May 4th to October 13th, the next several months are centered on reflection. More specifically, think about the ways you’ve felt slighted and the times when you may have hurt someone else.

See if there’s an opportunity for you to forgive the people who messed up, including yourself. You’re more than your mistakes. Taking time to sit with what happened and how you feel about it can help you move forward. See if you find a new perspective.

Pisces

When Jupiter enters your co-water sign, Cancer, on June 9th, you’ll slip into your “No thank you” era. As a chronic people pleaser, Jupiter’s expansive powers are here to help you take up space by prioritizing your own needs.

Practice setting boundaries this season, Pisces. You can start small, like declining an invite you’d last-minute cancel anyway or waiting an hour before responding to a text. You don’t have to feel guilty for creating limits.

Your Self-Care Horoscope for 2025

We’ll take whatever advice we can get, tbh.

The new year always brings new reasons to take better care of yourself. And your 2025 horoscope is no exception. For the next 365 days, the stars are inviting us to heal from our past and find new ways to evolve. It’s a big assignment but probably a much-needed one.

As we kick off the year, Mars continues to retrograde in Cancer until February 23rd. As a result, we’ll all be feeling lethargic (let’s go back to bed, shall we?). If you do anything at all, use this time to conserve your energy, surround yourself with comforts, stay present, and keep your plans flexible (see: cancelable).

Around the same time, the North and South nodes (aka the Nodes of Destiny) enter Pisces and Virgo, respectively, on January 11th. The Nodes aren’t planets, but they are points on the moon’s axis. In astrology, those points indicate what needs our attention now (the North Node) and what we’ve already experienced (the South Node). This transit encourages us to use spirituality (whatever that means to you) to get a little more grounded and heal over the next year and a half. If you take the universe up on it, you might gain a greater sense of interconnectedness and acceptance. Love that for us.

On March 1st, Venus begins to retrograde in Aries through Pisces until April 12th. Venus, the planet ruling romance, values, and aesthetics, wants us to rethink our alliances. Are there any relationships that aren’t working anymore? Are there some worth giving a little more TLC? This is a great time to assess.

While Venus is traveling backward, it meets up with the sun on March 22nd, making it the perfect day to get clear on your romantic relationships. (It’s very good for DTR talks.) It’s also an ideal opportunity to nurture your relationship with yourself. Schedule a massage, book that class at the gym, or give yourself five minutes to stare at the ceiling for no reason.

Not long after, Neptune, the planet of spirituality and idealism, heads into Aries on March 30th. That transit wants us to believe in our dreams and see them through to the end. If you need motivation, this is your moment!

As we move through the last month of spring (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), Saturn enters Aries on May 24th, staying there until September 1st. This period gives us a chance to take charge of our lives at work and outside of it. Think about the ways you can be more in control.

Jupiter, the planet of luck and expansion, is in chatty, always-busy Gemini until June 9th, when it enters Cancer for the next year. Once it’s swimming in Cancerian waters, Jupiter sends extra nurturing, protective, artistic, and compassionate vibes our way. We need them!

On July 7th, innovative (often chaotic) Uranus moves into Gemini until November 7th (when it retrogrades into Taurus for a bit). That transit wants us to think about how our actions and words align—or don’t. By the time Uranus hits Taurus, you can use those insights to develop practical solutions and move forward.

Eclipse season will also shake things up this year (like every year). The first is a lunar eclipse in Virgo on March 14th, encouraging us to lean into mindfulness. Then, we’ll have a solar eclipse in Aries on March 29th, igniting our passions and self-esteem. When the lunar eclipse in Pisces on September 7th hits, our emotions will be front and center. We’ll cap the season off with a solar eclipse in Virgo on September 21st, prepping us for a fresh start. There’s something in here for everyone!

And, of course, no year would be complete without a few Mercury retrogrades. This year they’re happening March 15th to April 7th in Aries and Pisces, July 18th to August 11th in Leo, and November 9th to the 29th in Sagittarius and Scorpio. Because these are all happening in water and fire signs, you might feel tired and irritable. Not ideal. Still, remember that Mercury retrogrades are a chance to refresh and rethink how we communicate, our attitudes, and our beliefs. Focus on improving your life. Don’t partake in the drama.

The way each of these transits affects you depends on your birth chart—or a map of where the planets were in relation to the place you were born at the time of your birth. So, below, we explain what’s in store next year for you. You can read up on your sun sign or your rising sign (both impact the way these transits hit you). You’ll also find ways you can take care of yourself during this next trip around the sun, which is the whole point, right?

Aries

You are a force to be reckoned with. But even someone as fierce and resourceful as you needs sleep and time to decompress. And that’s your assignment in early 2025 as Mars, your planetary ruler, retrogrades until February 23rd.

If you start practicing boundaries and limits early on, you’ll be prepared for Venus and Mercury’s backslide through your sign between March and April. That transit also wants you to avoid biting off more than you can chew. While you’re figuring out how much you can really take on at once, spend time thinking about ways you can enroll the help of others. That’s what Neptune and Saturn want from you as they align with your sign from March 30th to October 2nd and from May 24th to September 1st.

Maybe it’s obvious by now, but your self-care assignment for 2025 is to do less! Sign up for our Do Less Challenge, set boundaries, rethink your to-do list, and seek out sources of support. It’s time to lean out, Aries!

Taurus

You’re known for your down-to-earth nature, but 2025 wants you to go deeper. From March 1st to April 12th, Venus, your planetary ruler, retrogrades in Aries. And, like all retrogrades, this one wants you to reflect on your values, what makes you happy, your relationship with yourself, and your relationship with others.

Maybe that means taking a step back from the party scene and implementing more rest into your life (especially in early spring). Whatever action you take, the goal is to do what’s best for your well-being. You don’t have to cancel your plans though. Maybe you just switch things up, planning more low-key events at home, and centering hangouts on conversation and coziness when Uranus realigns with your sign in the late fall . Sounds soothing, right?

Gemini

Jupiter, the planet of expansion, has been in your sign since May 25th 2024, and it’ll be there until June 9th 2025. Hopefully, you’ve noticed a major confidence boost over the last year. If not, take advantage of the spotlight during the next several months. On July 7th Uranus enters Gemini, and shakes up your social life—likely for the better!

To take advantage of these big transits, think about how you can expand your social circle. Who are the people you’ve been meaning to reach out to? What friendship could grow with a little extra care? Keep an open mind, stay flexible with your plans, and you may learn more about yourself, others, and the world.

ICYMI, community care counts as self-care. So bookmark these deep conversation starters for moments of connection with your people. It’s gonna be a fun ride, Gem!

Cancer

Jupiter, the planet of expansion, growth, and adventure, is coming for your sign on June 9th. This transit encourages you to be your most emotionally mature self, resolving interpersonal struggles, developing healthy friendships, charming the pants off everyone, and nurturing your relationship with yourself.

While all of that is exciting, the last bit is probably the most important for your mental health this year. Harness this big Jupiter energy by showing yourself some love in the form of gratitude journaling (“Things I appreciate about myself” is a solid prompt!), a new affirmation routine, or developing an appreciation for boundaries.

Leo

When progressive Uranus moves through chatty Gemini from July 7th to November 7th, it’ll activate the humanitarian and social areas of your chart. That transit wants you to broaden your horizons and shift your attention to those who could use some kindness. But, in social Leo fashion, making it a group event will maximize the benefits.

Around the same time (July 18th to August 11th, to be exact), Mercury retrograde is happening in your sign. That could bring old friends back into your orbit, so take advantage! Engaging with your community to better the world is an act of self-care since it can prevent loneliness, create connection, and align with your values (aka the things that are most important to you). Go get ’em, Leo!

Virgo

On January 11th the South Node hits your sign, encouraging you to uncover secrets, fears, and setbacks you’ve been avoiding for a while now. Over the next 18 months, you’ll have an incredible opportunity to heal the stuff you’d normally gloss over. Plus, the lunar eclipse on March 14th and the September 21st solar eclipse happening in your sign will put these issues front and center.

Maybe it’s fostering self-compassion for your mistakes, identifying habits that just aren’t working anymore, or accepting parts of yourself you’d rather ignore. It’s hard work (sometimes called shadow work), but the payoff is massive. With that challenge ahead of you, prioritize positive self-talk, feel those big feelings, and try to validate yourself instead of seeking affirmation from external sources.

Libra

When the North Node enters Pisces on January 11th, you’ll be in the mood for a healing journey. As an air sign, you’ll likely benefit from learning something new or getting into the arts. And with Pluto getting comfortable in innovative Aquarius, a new creative hobby might be more beneficial than you think.

If you can, try to keep up those outlets as the Venus retrograde in Aries (March 1st to April 12th) slows your motivation. Even if you get wrapped up in your career and relationships stuff (classic Libra distractions), expressing yourself can help you decompress.

When you’re losing steam, harness the vibes from Uranus in Gemini from July 7th to November 7th and switch things up. Maybe a knitting club or a monthly paint class is exactly what you and your crew need right now.

Scorpio

Welcome to your soft era, Scorpio. To be honest, it may have already begun when Mars started moonwalking in early December. Though the planet of action will go direct on February 23rd, you can expect the slow, tender vibes to stick around through the year. That’s because your modern planetary ruler, Pluto, who’s currently in Aquarius, is urging you to let your guard down and nurture your relationships in meaningful ways.

Go ahead, be mushy and let your people know that you’re here for them with a just-checking-in text, a deep conversation, or a would you rather question. That’ll be especially impactful during the solar eclipse in Virgo on September 21st. In 2025, your job is to make sure the people you love know how much you care. You’ll feel fulfilled when you do.

Sagittarius

Your ruling planet Jupiter is shining a spotlight on your work and social life, Sag. In the first half of the year, the planet of expansion and growth will linger in social Gemini until June 9th. Then, on July 7th, Uranus, known for making waves and starting fresh, enters Gemini until November 7th. Both of these transits are impacting your seventh house of interpersonal connections, making you super popular. Wee!

You can optimize this time by developing relationships with work colleagues you love (not awkward icebreaker questions for work, anyone?). Who knows, they might become your new best friends. Tending to those new relationships will be extra helpful as Mercury, the planet ruling communication, retrogrades in your sign (and Scorpio) from November 9th to the 29th.

Of course, while you’re making more time for others, don’t forget to take care of yourself. Ramp up the positive self-talk, blast your favorite song in the car, or plan a Sunday bed rot

Capricorn

When your planetary ruler, Saturn, heads into Aries on May 24th, it will enter your house of ~family affairs~ until September 1st. Like you, Saturn is a rule follower who loves a routine. Utilize this always-on-time energy to schedule more quality moments with your fam. That could help you cultivate a healthier dynamic with them going forward.

Then, on June 9th, lucky Jupiter enters Cancer, which is opposite your sign. This makes it a great time to assess your goals in work and life. While your main objective is to set realistic expectations, you can still dream big! Make a vision board for the next six months of 2025, using creativity to whip up a visual representation of what you want to achieve.

Aquarius

With Pluto, the planet of transformation and healing, securely in your sign until 2043, the stars want you to lead with your opinions and ideas. It’ll be a change of pace for your chill self, but that might be just what you need.

Your emotions will also be top of mind toward the end of the year as Uranus, which governs the unexpected, waffles back and forth between social Gemini and earthy Taurus (starting November 7th). These transits will strengthen the part of your chart that rules self-expression and your emotional foundation. Translation: Your innermost emotions are going to get real intense.

This is an excellent time to feel your feelings. If you’re not sure where to start or what you’re even feeling, spend some time with a feelings wheel. See if you can identify the emotions that are bubbling up for you. Then, prioritize sitting with whatever’s going on without fixing it. Maybe it’s a weekly bubble bath, a daily shower cry (no judgment), or a solid journaling practice. Use what works, leave what doesn’t.

Pisces

You’re stronger than you know, Pisces! While you’re definitely one of the most intuitive signs in the zodiac, 2025 is going to prove that you can also be independent, effective, and achieve whatever you put your mind to. That’s because, starting January 11th, the North Node enters your sign, energizing you through the summer of 2026.

Then, when the eclipses hit your chart in the spring and fall (especially the lunar one in your sign on September 7th), the universe wants you to let go. Think about the unhealthy situations, friends, or people you need to set limits with or lose altogether. By the time you’re done you’ll have a clearer picture of who appreciates you in your full glory (perhaps even a new romantic interest).

Your assignment is to become a boundary-setting savant. Think about how you want people to treat you. Then, kindly and calmly explain your boundary to whoever needs to hear it (giving them advanced notice before you hang out is always a good idea). If you’re extra clear and reinforce your limits, this process might just change your life (or at least your year).

Your Fall 2024 Self-Care Horoscope

It’s time for a vibe shift.

Whether you loved it or hated every second, the slow-your-roll vibes of summer are coming to a close. When the sun enters Libra on September 22 (it’s the autumnal equinox), we’ll be off on a journey of solar eclipses (solar eclipse 2024 season lives on!), retrogrades, and solar shifts that will simultaneously challenge us and change us. Here’s what the forecast looks like this fall 2024.

On October 2nd, we’ll have a solar eclipse in Libra. These types of eclipses happen when the sun, moon, and Earth are all aligned, with the moon blocking out the sun. Though you won’t be able to see this one in the northern hemisphere, it’s bound to impact us all. As a reminder, eclipses swoop in to shake up our lives so we can really see what’s working and what isn’t. It brings things to light that you might have otherwise missed.

This one is no different. You can expect the unexpected in all areas of life. It sounds like a lot, and it is, but this solar eclipse can bring welcome breakthroughs in your career, family, relationships, and your relationship with yourself. When it’s over, you might find that your life is more balanced (thanks to that Libra energy!).

Then, on October 9th, philosophical Jupiter, the planet associated with luck, expansion, and journeys begins retrograding in Gemini until February 4, 2025. This makes it a great time to reassess your vision for your life or the future and how you want to go after it.

Transformative Pluto finally starts moving forward on October 11th after a five month retrograde from progressive Aquarius to rule-focused Capricorn. But by November 19th, Pluto will be back in Aquarius, bringing sudden changes to the areas of our lives that need to advance. The growing pains are real, but you may come out healed on the other side.

On October 22nd, the sun moves into Pluto-ruled Scorpio, so don’t be surprised if your perspectives start to shift and you feel compelled to evolve further.

After another long retrograde (it began in Pisces on June 29th), daily routine-focused Saturn starts chugging ahead on November 15. If you take a look back at what you learned about setting boundaries over the past few months, you might find that you’ve done some good work. As Saturn moves forward, it’s asking us to put those new practices into place when people or situations attempt to bulldoze our limits. Trusting your judgment will come in handy here.

While the positive vibes enter the chat as the sun heads into accepting and independent Sagittarius on November 21st, we begin an unfortunately timed Mercury retrograde a few days later on the 25th until December 15th. Like all Mercury retrogrades, this one (happening in Sag) can cause miscommunications and tech problems galore. Avoid jumping to conclusions or being quick to react…and maybe start your online holiday shopping early this year.

On December 6th, action-oriented Mars slows down until February 23, 2025. As Mars retrogrades in Leo (and Cancer), expect frustrations. While expressing your feelings is always a good idea, this period may leave you feeling unheard since most of us will be too burnt out to deal with other people’s issues. This transit is asking us to decompress and find other ways to express our emotions (journaling, anyone?).

Like Pluto and Saturn, dreamy Neptune comes out of retrograde in Pisces on December 7th. If you made the most of that Neptune backslide (which began on July 2nd) by feeling your feelings as unexpected news comes up, yay for you! Now is a great time to put those new skills to use.

Aries

Unfortunately, the solar eclipse in Libra on October 2nd may make you feel jealous of others in your circle. That might make you feel insecure and powerless and make you act out within your relationships. Not fun. While that chaotic eclipse energy isn’t great, it allows you to test drive new self-care tools to deal with jealousy. If you can, try to find a way to understand your envy and release it. Journaling could definitely help! Don’t be surprised if you feel more confident after putting it all on the page.

By the time Mars, your ruling planet, goes retrograde in Leo on December 6th (until February 23rd 2025), you’ll be ready to patch things up with anyone who got caught in your jealous streak. Use this time of reflection to think about who deserves an apology and the best way to move forward. If you use this energy wisely, you won’t make the same mistakes again.

Taurus

Your planetary ruler, Venus, who governs romance and creativity, runs from hot-tempered Scorpio to independent Aquarius this season will have you feeling a little all over the place this fall. As the season begins, Venus in Scorpio is energizing, making you feel ready to take on the world from September 22nd to October 17th. Then, as it moves into thrill-seeking Sagittarius on October 17th, the intensity builds as Venus encourages you to get out of your comfort zone. If you harness those Sag vibes, you might boost your self-esteem

But on November 11th, Venus heads into reflective Capricorn until December 7th, and calls on you to slow the hell down. Use that time to take stock of your energy levels, get more realistic about your schedule, and cancel plans you’re too tired for. During this period, the best self-care strategy might just be watching comfort TV in your PJs.

Once you’re fully rebooted, you’ll be ready for Venus’s entrance into Aquarius on December 7th, a time when the planet encourages you to emotionally connect with your people. Don’t be afraid to get super honest with deep convos. They might be just the thing you need after a long social break.

Gemini

You definitely need to hear this: It’s OK to slow down. The solar eclipse on October 2nd in balance-obsessed Libra, a fellow air sign, wants you to make time for rest. While that could mean sleeping in, relaxation can also take the form of stimulating activities outside of your typical responsibilities. Maybe you start taking long walks, become an amateur birder, or make some terrible collages. Any activity that breaks you out of the day-to-day can be a powerful self-care tool during this time.

It won’t be easy though. As Jupiter, the planet of expansion and growth, retrogrades through your sun from October 9th to February 4th, 2025, the opportunities to do all the things will be plentiful. So, use the slow-down lessons you learned during the eclipse to prioritize joy over busyness.

Of course, Mercury, your ruling planet, also goes retrograde this season between November 25th and December 15th in Sagittarius. This calls for, well, even more rest. That’s your self-care assignment this season, Gem.

Cancer

While eclipse energy is chaotic, the one happening on October 2nd in Libra will prove to be healing for you. While it may get messy (classic eclipse), the shake ups will encourage you to reconcile relationship issues from the past—especially with family.

Throwing a wrench in our life plans to help us change course is the whole point of an eclipse. And this one wants you to dissolve underlying resentment and have those hard conversations you’ve been avoiding. But that’s a good thing, Cancer!

To take care of yourself this season, get clear on what boundaries would make your historically problematic relationships more functional. What topics are off limits? What is fair game? What settings make sense to spend time together and which don’t? With a better understanding of your limits, you can create healthy relationships while protecting your heart and wellbeing.

Leo

There is a lot to look forward to this fall, Leo! For you, this season is all about celebrating your wins, recovering from past losses, and mentally preparing for the future. As the sun, your planetary ruler, moves from Libra (on September 22nd) to Scorpio (October 22nd) through Sagittarius season (November 22nd to December 21st), you’re encouraged to look back at all you’ve accomplished and pat yourself on the back. Go you!

In between the festivities, you’ll also have the opportunity to emotionally recover from all the hype on November 1st with the new moon in Scorpio, and unwind during the new moon in Sag on December 1st. Who couldn’t use an intermission?

While it might be hard for you to lie low, lean into the recovery vibes sent by those lunar  transits. Maybe it’s blocking off those days in your cal to make dinner and read a book. Or set aside extra time in the morning to hurkle durkle before mindlessly scrolling in bed. Whatever you do, try to make the most of it since the Mars retrograde starting December 6th is bound to wear you out.

Virgo

While life may feel a little out of pocket for the next few months, this is the perfect time to flex those self-care skills. When Jupiter, the planet of expansion and growth, begins to retrograde in Gemini (a fellow air sign ruled by Mercury, like you) on October 9th, any struggles you’ve been slogging through at work may be amplified.

From there, Saturn turns direct in Pisces, in your seventh house of relationships on November 15th. Your exes might suddenly appear out of nowhere—you’ve been warned. Oh, and of course Mercury, the planet that controls your sign, retrogrades on November 25th in Sagittarius. That translates to a high probability of miscommunications.

This is a lot, and the best way to survive is to prioritize your mind whenever possible. Maybe you set a timer for two minutes and just stare at a wall. Or you could tackle work stress by testing out the Pomodoro method, working in 25 minute-chunks followed by a five minute break. Just stepping outside to walk around the block and touch a tree can help too. Though they’re tiny, these moments can add up to major relief.

Libra

With the solar eclipse happening in your sign on October 2nd, you might feel like all eyes are on you—and you might not love that. Don’t be shocked if you’re feeling a little insecure in the spotlight, Libra. This transit also ups the chances that people take their own issues out on you—never fun—or that you project your stuff onto them.

This can feel like a bad time. But don’t let the haters or your own insecurities get the best of you. Instead of worrying about what others think, make time to investigate where your insecurities come from. Why do you care so much about their opinions? Where did that fear or belief come from? See if you can answer those Qs in your journal or using voice notes.

Then, think more about the people who have your back and how you can spend more time with them. Beginning on December 6th, your 11th house of hopes and dreams will be aspected by Mars, the planet of action, as it’s retrograde in Leo. That energy is inviting you to recommit to friends that make you feel safe and comfortable as you realign with your aspirations.

Scorpio

Eclipse season often brings the truth to light, and this one could be tricky for you, Scorpio. When the solar eclipse in Libra hits on October 2nd, you might learn some information that impacts those you care about.

While you’re not one to shy away from reporting facts to your friends and family, you might feel torn: Should you deliver the news yourself or let things unfold on their own? Thankfully, Pluto, your planetary ruler who oversees destruction, re-enters Aquarius on November 19th, and squashes the gossip. Then, on December 6th, Mars retrograde defuses any lingering drama.

While that sounds like a crisis averted, it can’t hurt to use this time to get centered as the chaos swirls around you. Try a grounding exercise like looking out for glimmers, aka moments in your day that make you feel good, spark joy, or give you a sense of peace.

Sagittarius

When Jupiter, your ruling planet, goes retrograde in Gemini on October 9th, it activates the relationship sector of your chart. That might make it tempting to fall back into old, unhealthy habits within your romantic life. If you feel discouraged, try to look back at how far you’ve come since May 25th, when this planet of expansion and growth entered Gemini. Since then, you’ve been evolving for the better within your relationships, and that’s worth keeping up.

On November 25th, Mercury goes retrograde in your sign until December 15th, which may pressure you to act impulsively. It might feel easier to just do what other people want (see: people pleasing), but if you can find a way to prioritize your needs ahead of others’ desires, you won’t regret it.

When the going gets tough, do a quick assessment to get a better understanding of who you are and what are your values. Think about some of the best decisions you’ve made in the past that you felt really good about and what was the thing that helped you decide? Maybe you broke up with someone because you felt pulled away from your friendships. If the need to spend more time with your friends was the deciding factor, then close platonic relationships are one of the things you value. See how many values you can come up with in 30 minutes.

Capricorn

Since September 1st, transformational Pluto has been back in your sun sign (after a brief stint in Aquarius) and will remain there until November 19th. That might resurface many of the issues you faced in the last days of 2023.

That’s especially true when the solar eclipse in Libra comes for your friends and social life on October 2nd. But now that you have a little more perspective, you’ll be more than equipped to manage the shake ups headed your way head on.

Then, as Saturn goes direct in Pisces on November 15th (it’s been retrograde since June 29th), you’ll have a lot more clarity on how you’d like your life to evolve. You got this, Cap.

Aquarius

Mid-November is about to be a wild time for your interpersonal relationships, Aquarius. As Saturn turns direct in Pisces on November 15th and Pluto re-enters your sun sign on November 19th, you’re bound to catch peoples’ attention or just be booked and busy.

Plus, Mercury retrograde, happening in Sagittarius on November 25th has you reflecting on painful moments in past relationships (platonic or not) through December 15th. Finally, you’ll be dealing with Mars, the action-oriented planet, as it retrogrades in the relationship sector of your chart starting December 6th. That transit, which continues until early 2025, could reveal more about people who don’t have your best interests at heart.

When other people’s opinions or actions make you feel crappy, give your self-love a boost with some realistic affirmations. These positive (yet believable) phrases come in handy when you need a little confidence, validation, or encouragement—like amidst the November that’s headed your way. You can recite these in the mirror, write them down, or sing them to yourself in the car. Whatever feels natural to you is fair game.

Pisces

It’s time to enter your newest era, Pisces! On November 15th, Saturn, the planet of structure and consequences, goes direct in your sun sign. During that retrograde, which lasted nearly six months, Saturn encouraged you to rethink your boundaries and who you spend time with. Those lessons will be super helpful in your next phase.

Elusive and intuitive Neptune also starts moving forward in your sign on December 7th. That Neptune retrograde period may have come with a few unexpected reality checks, but you made it through (hopefully with a better understanding of your emotions).

But before all that retrograde business wraps up, Jupiter, the planet of expansion and the bigger picture, goes retrograde, on October 9th in Gemini. You can harness the power of this transit by rethinking how you impact the greater good of the world. Does your 9 to 5 have a higher purpose? Would volunteering be feasible? Think about the impact you can make and the best way to do it.

During this time, your self-care homework is to focus on gratitude, meaning, what you’re grateful for. What are the smallest things you’re thankful for? It could be a cup of coffee, taking a walk on a beautiful day, or just the ability to pay your phone bill this month. That practice can leave you feeling grounded and fuel your altruistic ambitions.

Your Summer 2024 Self-Care Horoscope

Caution: Big feelings ahead.

Starting June 20th, summertime is officially here!  And after all the vibe-shifting, personal-growth-fueling energy of the spring eclipses, summer 2024 wants us to slow down, feel buried feelings, think deeply, and shift our perspectives. Yeah, that’s heavy, but who couldn’t use a little emotional inventory? Here’s what the stars are asking of us over the next few months.

For starters, we’ve got two full moons in Capricorn, encouraging us to focus on pursuing our passions and big life goals. The first one hits on June 21st and wants us to express our emotions around those themes. The second one comes in on July 21st, helping us get a little more realistic about what’s possible.

Then, we’ve got five planetary retrogrades happening this season (Pluto has been retrograde since May). As with any retrograde, the universe is gently (sometimes not so gently) nudging us to revisit, reassess, revise, and reconsider the way we’ve been doing or thinking about things. Though it’s annoying to slow down, the upcoming Saturn, Neptune, Mercury, and Uranus retrogrades can help us gain insight on our personal struggles and how we relate to the world.

On June 29th, Saturn starts moonwalking (see: retrograding) through dreamy Pisces until November 15th. With this transit, we’ll really benefit from setting boundaries and being more selective about how we invest our time.

Just a few days after the start of that Saturn retrograde, elusive and intuitive Neptune retrogrades in Pisces from July 2nd through December 7th. We shouldn’t be surprised if we’re suddenly hit by a major reality check. If we learn something we’re not ready to hear, this transit wants us to use our emotions as a guide to understand more about how this truth makes us feel.

Of course, it wouldn’t be summer without a travel-sabotaging Mercury retrograde. This one will be with us from August 5th to the 28th—and it’s extra spicy. As Mercury moves backward through pragmatic Virgo into dramatic Leo on the 14th, old wounds and frustrations are bound to resurface, so be nice to yourself and others.

During that Mercury retrograde, we’ll also have a blue moon (meaning the second full moon in a 30-day period) in Aquarius on August 19th. This will be a great time to reconnect with our neighbors, chosen family, and community.

Our final planetary retrograde of the season starts September 1st as Uranus, the planet of surprises and chaos, moves back through Taurus until January 30th, 2025. Yep, it’s a long one, and it will likely deliver some shake-ups in the form of a breakthrough or two. Still, we’ll have plenty of time to think more about what being our truest selves feels like and get a little closer to achieving unconditional self-love

But wait, there’s more! On September 17th, a lunar eclipse in Pisces (so much Pisces action this month!) is shaking things up to bring our relationship to spirituality and emotions to the surface.

Woof, that’s a lot. I know. But doing this hard emotional work now will help us live our best lives moving forward. When we’re struggling, these transits want us to turn to friends and family for support, so use those resources when you need them.

Also worth noting, the ways these transits hit you will depend on your birth chart, or a map of the planets’ positions when you were born. Here, I’ll share more about what this all could mean for you according to your sun or rising sign. I’ll also give you a few tips on how to take care of your emotional and mental health in the thick of these transits. Here we go!

Aries

Thanks to Saturn and Neptune retrograding through your 12th house of shadows and the unconscious, you’ll likely be feeling anxious this summer. Plus, when action-loving Mars, the planet that rules your sun sign, and strict Saturn share a challenging aspect on August 16th, you might feel stuck or unable to get things done.

Yep, these uncomfy transits are not ideal, especially for an Aries who loves to be on the move. But sitting with those anxieties and giving them the attention they deserve can help. So can finding a sense of purpose through volunteering or taking care of others. It could even be as simple as taking your dog on extra walks.

Taurus

You’re not one to rush through life, but when chaotic Uranus transits through your sun this season you might be feeling lost or behind in life. You could get the sense that you’re not doing enough or meeting the same life milestones as your peers and stress out about checking those boxes. That’s definitely a crummy place to be. However, when Uranus starts retrograding on September 1st, your naturally chill self and the planet will move at the same pace, soothing that urge to play catch up.

As you wait for some sweet relief, you don’t have to white-knuckle your way through the summer. Instead, celebrate the small wins, do nice things for yourself, and take note of what comparing yourself to others brings up for you. Maybe it inspires you to think about other career options or makes you realize you just really want a boat. Self-compassion and self-discovery are always a win.

Gemini

You might be the life of the party, but when Mercury, your ruling planet that also governs communication, retrogrades on August 5th, some sneaky social anxiety could kick into high gear. When that happens, be sure to fact-check your anxious thoughts and take a moment to breathe when things feel overwhelming. You should feel a lot better after the 28th.

Still, don’t forget that it’s OK to sit out on the events that feel like too much. On August 19th, Jupiter, the planet of expansion, and limiting Saturn square off, which might put you in the mood to cancel plans and stay home with a book. Same goes for September 17th’s lunar eclipse. Your body, mind, and spirit will be grateful for some low-key alone time during those messy transits.

Cancer

The two full moons in Capricorn on June 21st and July 21st activate your seventh house of partnerships, giving you the opportunity to connect with close friends, business partners, or romantic ones in a deeply meaningful way. No easy feat for you, Cancer!

With extra help from the blue moon in Aquarius on August 19th, you’ll continue to open up within those close bonds. Your feelings for them, whatever they may be, could intensify. Of course, there’s no pressure to act on the situation.

Vulnerability and connection are the themes of your summer, Cancer! And while that can be intimidating for a cautious person like yourself, don’t be afraid to lean in with a “just checking in” text or by asking your long-term partner these first-date questions to get closer. It’s time to go deep.

Leo

The Mercury retrograde is coming for your sun this summer, Leo. While Mercury begins its backward journey in Virgo, the last two weeks are in your sign. While no one loves miscommunications, travel delays, and tech malfunctions, this one is going to feel extremely cathartic for you.

Listen, releasing repressed emotions is not exactly a party. But, once it’s over, it feels so good, right? This Mercury retrograde enables you to face your biggest fears by doing a little shadow work. While you’re undoubtedly bold and courageous, you’re also a human who can feel insecure like the rest of us. Take some time to embrace the parts of yourself that you normally hide from others. When you’re not doing that intense work, try to prioritize fun as a way to care for yourself through this important yet challenging process.

Virgo

This summer, your heart and mind will be at odds with each other as you assess your friendships. The Mercury, Saturn, and Neptune retrogrades are helping you rethink those platonic relationships and judge whether they’re adding value to your life. You may start to see people for who they really are.

That can be a lot to process, but by the lunar eclipse in Pisces on September 17th, you’ll have more clarity around who has your back and who you should keep at arm’s length. Sure, you might be disappointed by those who turn out to be frenemies, but that knowledge can help you have your own back. Chilling solo is always better than playing social charades with others.

To help you through this rocky time, try to limit your social media screen time and embrace the power of soft connections. Your “friend” at the dog park, the gym, or the library all add value to your life—even if they don’t know your last name.

Libra

This summer, expansive Jupiter aspects your ninth house of philosophy and wisdom, encouraging you to create a life that aligns with your needs. A big part of that will be rethinking some of your relationships, Libra.

While you’re all about balance and partnerships, you might realize—especially when Jupiter and rigid Saturn square off on August 19th—that you can’t let your people walk all over you. Boundaries are key to keeping a relationship healthy and protecting your peace.

Even though you hate confrontation, sharing what you’ll no longer tolerate is an important part of this process. And if you don’t speak up, the lunar eclipse on September 17th might do it for you.

So, why not use the next few months to brush up on your boundaries? Think about what’s working in your friendships and partnerships and what’s not. Then, decide what limits you can set to prevent issues like miscommunication, codependence, resentment, and frustration.

Scorpio

The end of your summer might feel annoyingly slow or uninspiring as action-oriented Mars, your planetary ruler, and expansive Jupiter square Saturn between August 16th and 19th.

But hang in there. On August 22nd, romantic Venus and Mars connect, activating your creativity. This could be a great time to express your feelings through art therapy. Whether it’s a new art project or just scribbling in an adult coloring book, do what feels good.

Whatever creative path you take, the lunar eclipse on September 17th will enable you to let go of your inhibitions and really go for it, utilizing that project as a therapeutic release.

Sagittarius

No one loves a trip away from the ordinary more than you, Sag. And when Jupiter, the planet of growth and abundance, squares Saturn, which governs routine and limitations, taking a break from the mundane can help you recover from the drama in the world or your personal life.

So plan a trip that feels extra restorative. Maybe it’s a local adventure, like camping out in the woods to connect with nature or renting a beach house to unwind. The goal is to have fun and relax, so you can come back to the real world in a better headspace than you left.

Capricorn

You’re often harder on yourself than anybody else, Cap. So it’s time to dive into a little self-compassion during the upcoming full moons. The first one arrives on June 21st and aspects tender Venus, encouraging you to be sweeter to yourself. On July 21st, the full moon in Capricorn is conjunct with spiritual Neptune, reminding you that we’re all just trying our best.

Don’t know where to start? Take yourself out on a solo date to do all your favorite things. And don’t forget to remind yourself that you deserve it. If you make a habit of it, this self-care tool will come in handy when Saturn, the planetary ruler of Capricorn, starts to retrograde on June 29th. You got this!

Aquarius

With Mercury retrograding through your seventh house partnerships for most of August, you might be feeling pretty confused about your bonds with close friends, romantic partners, and business partners. Mixed messages abound!

You might also feel like it’s hard to relate to those closest to you. Whatever the struggle, confiding in an objective friend or therapist could help you understand those dynamics better and get some fresh insights. At the very least, they’ll make you feel seen and heard.

By the time the lunar eclipse shakes up your day-to-day or the way you normally think about things on September 17th, you’ll be ready to reach out to anyone you’ve had issues with and reconnect.

Pisces

There’s a lot happening in your neck of the woods this month! First, you’ve got routine-loving Saturn and spirituality-focused Neptune going retrograde in your sign. That can make doing life harder as you get lost in a kind of ~sentimental~ haze.

Since you’re already feeling nostalgic, lean on supportive old friends to help you get through whatever challenges arise during this foggy period. Spending time with them might make you realize how awesome they are or that your relationship has actually improved over the years.

Just one quick warning though, make sure you’re not sacrificing your boundaries for these friendships. Keep an eye on how you’re being treated, especially during the narrative-shifting eclipse in your sign on September 17th. Your feelings matter just as much as theirs, Pisces.

Sure, blame the planets for your quarter life crisis.

Your astrology-obsessed friend name drops it, Kacey Musgraves sang about it, and an astrologer on Ariana Grande’s new album gave us a quick lesson on what it means. Chances are you’ve heard about the ~Saturn return~ phenomenon.

If you’re not a big astrology person™, you should know that when people go through a Saturn return, shit can get messy. Maybe you get laid off, your long-term partner dips out, or you face another seemingly life-altering situation like wanting to change career paths, get divorced, start a family, or augment your overall philosophy on life.

When people come to me—an astrologer and author of the Saturn Return Survival Guide—for help with a major drama like this, and they’re between the ages of 27 and 29-and-a-half years old, I’m probably going to look at what’s happening with their Saturn.

That’s because this period often involves stepping (or being pushed) out of your comfort zone in order to find purpose in any areas of life where you feel unfulfilled. While it may be tough to learn these lessons, the resulting transformation can help you get closer to the person you hope to become. Yay for progress!

So, let’s break down why this transit can hit us so hard in the feels, what that means for you, and what therapists say you can do to navigate the mental health hurdles that might come with your Saturn return.

What is a Saturn return?

In astrology, Saturn is known for its strict nature (the planet loves a daily routine) and ability to teach valuable lessons. It wants us to understand the importance of responsibility, obligations, structure, and being realistic in our lives. It’s also often associated with authority and rule-making. The location of Saturn in your birth chart can say a lot about how those themes show up in your life, especially around your Saturn return (you can find your birth chart and Saturn return timeline here.).

ICYMI, everyone has a birth chart, or a literal map of where the planets were in the sky at the time and place you were born. When you’re going through a Saturn return, that means Saturn is returning to the place it is in your birth chart, or its exact placement when you were born. This happens when you’re between 27 to 29-and-a-half years old (it takes Saturn 29-and-a-half years to make one trip around the sun, according to NASA).

Another important point: In our lifetime, we could experience up to three Saturn returns. The first happens in our late 20s, the second in our 50s, and the final in our 80s. Each of these serves up the same opportunities for us to learn those Saturnian lessons, like obligation, routine, and structure.

The first Saturn return, probably the most famous one, marks our entrance into adulthood. It’s when we start thinking about our future as independent people and set our life goals.

When clients come to me during their first Saturn return, whether they realize it’s happening or not, they’ll often say that they feel like they’re at a crossroads. Some are trying to decide whether they should take time off from their career to travel or switch to another venture entirely. The first Saturn return can also impact friendships, since people feel like they’re outgrowing the ones they used to spend lots of time with. Oftentimes those old friends no longer align with their views and lifestyle.

During the second Saturn return, the same themes can come up, only this time the focus is on how you want to spend the second half of your life. You might be thinking more about moving on from a career you’ve spent decades building or a relationship that may have lasted just as long. You could also be reassessing your relationship with your kids. The financial repercussions of the last several decades can also catch up with you during the second Saturn return.

During the last Saturn return, the planets might encourage you to reflect on your life and to go after anything on your bucket list you haven’t set out to do yet. You might also feel more compelled to make a habit of sharing your life with others. For example, my grandfather became uncharacteristically vocal about his childhood during his third Saturn return. He wanted to share his memories with us. I’ve witnessed this with clients as well.

Why does a Saturn return feel terrible, and what do I do about it?

In a nutshell: Growing up is hard. No matter how old we are, our Saturn return is a time when we sort through the people, places, and things that matter to us. And when we’re confronted with what no longer matches our energy, it can bring up a lot of feelings about the past, present, and future.

This astrological transit wants you to become the most authentic version of yourself by understanding what speaks to you on an intimate level and making choices or changes that align with where you want to go in life—even if it’s a rocky process. Saturn doesn’t care if your next phase of life includes certain friends or jobs or habits. If it’s not working, this planetary transit wants you to let it go.

Before my Saturn Return, I believed I needed to live up to the expectations of my family and friends by doing what I felt they expected of me (working a basic 9 to 5 and trying to get married), but it didn’t feel authentic to me. Once I experienced my Saturn return, I realized that pursuing my true passion (spoiler: astrology) was more important than adhering to a traditional career path. For one of my colleagues, their Saturn return involved getting married and quickly divorced after they realized their partner wasn’t aligned with their goals and aspirations. It can be a lot.

While, yes, addressing these challenges head on and finding solutions that align with your values is the obvious way forward—and Saturn will love that for you—that doesn’t mean you’ll feel happy and fine as you make those major vibe shifts.

Actually, the feeling you might experience most during this challenging phase of life is overwhelm, says clinical psychologist Nina Polyné, PsyD. Overwhelm feels like moving from task to task without getting anything done or you’re completely frozen. That emotional state can lead to anxious thoughts about the future, fatigue, muscle tension, and may make you want to hide out from your friends and fam till further notice, she explains.

If you can relate, the first step to feeling better is to ask yourself, What do I need right now? says Dr. Polyné. Maybe it’s asking a friend for an assist or meeting your basic needs (have you eaten today? When’s the last time you sipped some water?). Maybe you just need to take a walk to your favorite park or around the block. You can also try a grounding exercise, she adds. Any of those can help you pause and regroup. Then, when you’re ready, you’ll get more clarity around the choices or changes you need to make.

For me, it took a few years to check myself. With the help of my psychotherapist and many missteps, I saw that I was creating the same cycle over and over. It wasn’t helping me evolve. But taking time to look at those situations and relationships in my life from an outside perspective allowed me to have the awareness of how they were holding me back. Eventually, I was able to let go and surrounded myself with people who lift me up.

While the metamorphosis of a Saturn return can be a heavy burden, by acknowledging what’s not working, slowing down, and taking care of yourself, you’ll ultimately be able to spread your wings and fly. See you on the other side!

Your Spring 2024 Self-Care Horoscope

Here’s what’s coming your way and how to deal with all of it.

According to the universe, the mood for spring 2024 is personal growth. Exciting, right? Of course, evolutions don’t usually come easy, and you can expect some classic astrological messiness over the next few months as a result. But before you clear your schedule, know that these chaotic moments are also the best opportunities to take care of yourself. Here’s what’s in store once the sun enters Aries and kicks off spring on March 19th.

For starters, we’ve got the beginning of 2024 eclipse season on March 25th with a lunar eclipse in Libra. These transits happen when the moon is in alignment with the Earth’s shadow during a full moon, and this one wants us to release outdated perspectives and ideas that don’t align with us anymore. Easy enough?

Then, on April 8th, we have a solar eclipse (one that can be seen across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico) in Aries. These types of eclipses happen when the sun, moon, and Earth are all aligned, with the moon blocking out the sun. These are indicators of big change, encouraging us to move toward new people and situations that are more in sync with us.

Around the same time, Mercury retrogrades in Aries from April 1st to the 25th. As you might know, a Mercury retrograde happens when this planet (one that rules communication, thinking, and getting from point A to B) looks like it’s moving backward through the solar system (it’s an optical illusion). That energy is asking us to slow TF down, reassess matters with care, and circle back on past projects or struggles. Don’t be surprised if technological difficulties, reemerging exes, or massive travel delays commence.

Toward the end of that retrograde, on April 20th, Jupiter (a planet associated with luck) and Uranus (the planet of revolution and change) will be conjunct (meaning the planets are at the same degree of the same zodiac sign in the sky) in Taurus. This transit enables us to improve our platonic relationships and how we relate to our community. It can also spark creativity and encourage us to take care of ourselves in new ways.

Then, on May 25th, Jupiter enters information-seeking Gemini, initiating a year-long transit in which we’re encouraged to better understand our needs, communicate them, and grow emotionally. All good things!

Toward the end of the season, we’ve got a conjunction between the sun and Venus, the planet ruling romantic love and creativity, in Gemini. You might notice life feeling a little hopeful or even magical as these planets encourage us to use our charm and speak from the heart.

To be fair, the way these transits impact you depends a lot on your birth chart, or a map of the planets showing where they were in relation to where and when you were born. Below, I’ll share insights on what this means for you based on your sun sign or your rising sign—both good indicators of how these will affect you. Plus, find out the healthiest ways to take care of yourself during the best and worst of this season.

Aries

Get ready for some major aha moments, Aries, because spring is bound to be the season of realizing things. On March 20th, Mercury, the planet of communication, aligns with healing-focused Chiron. Don’t be surprised if that transit sparks major epiphanies about what’s been holding you back. And it doesn’t stop there. The lunar eclipse happening a few days later will encourage you to put that knowledge to use by setting new boundaries. By the time the solar eclipse comes around in April, you’ll be ready to be more assertive than ever.

Of course, Mercury retrograde is happening in your sign through most of April, pushing you to re-calibrate anything else that isn’t working. Whatever you do, avoid falling back into old habits. By the end of May, the planets will allow you to finally learn to express yourself without letting your temper get in the way as Jupiter enters Gemini.

This season can be messy, but don’t be so hard on yourself as you navigate through it. If you notice that your thoughts are borderline rude, think about how you’d speak to a friend going through the same thing you are. Try to adjust your self-talk accordingly. Oh, and don’t forget to celebrate your wins (big and small) as you make meaningful progress. You are the most valuable person in your life.

Taurus

Honestly, this season of your life and the year ahead is one of the best. In late April, Jupiter and Uranus are conjunct in your sign, offering you a unique opportunity to see yourself in a different light. And that light is golden-hour level good. You might notice that the traits you normally look down on are fine—you might even start to like them. Make the most of this time by focusing on your relationship to yourself and your self-esteem. If you’re struggling to embrace radical self-love, remember that perfect does not, in fact, exist and that you’re always evolving. See if you maybe, possibly have already become the person you’ve always wanted to be.

As you transition in and out of this amazing planetary moment, be sure to check in on what you’re feeling and let go of any judgment. Instead, use that emotional insight to gain a better understanding of yourself and what you’re feeling.

Gemini

You probably know you’re a chronic overthinker, and while that can help you see both sides of any situation, it can also make you stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed. That will be especially true when Mercury retrogrades in Aries in April. When that happens, old relationships like ex-friends or ex-partners might be on your mind (or somehow re-enter your life). As easy as it can be to question everything, don’t overanalyze communication with people you’re in a relationship with or once were. Instead, keep your focus on letting go of old issues and connect with those who can help you heal. When Jupiter (the planet of expansion, luck, and journeys) enters your sign at the end of May—and stays there for a whole year!—you’ll be in a good place to gain some compassion for yourself and better understand your feelings.

As ghosts from your past reappear, remember that you don’t have to catch up. Instead, be present with how their presence (heh) makes you feel. Use that as your guide for what to do next, even if that’s just acknowledging their existence and moving it along.

Cancer

As the crab of the zodiac, it makes sense that you’ve been avoiding conflicts to get along with the people in your life lately. Still, this season has you willing to speak up about world events or causes you feel strongly about, thanks to the spring eclipses. It’s not in your nature, but don’t be afraid to embrace the spotlight that’s coming your way. When Uranus, a planet that rules community, and Jupiter, the planet of expansion, align in late April, people are going to notice you in a big way.

For Cancer, that attention can be a lot, so your self-care assignment is to set aside time to rest, prioritize your sleep routine, and cancel plans as needed. In early June, when the sun and Venus are conjunct, you’ll be able to refine those habits and start the summer feeling recharged.

Leo

You aren’t normally the one asking for help or guidance, even when you really need it. But this eclipse season wants to change that. Between March 25th and April 8th, you might notice that the circumstances become too much for you to handle on your own. Or the chaotic times might result in an epiphany—like that no one can tackle everything on their plate or that doing it all doesn’t prove that you’re stronger than others. By June, you might find that you have a reliable community eager to help you accomplish whatever you set out to do.

During the next few months, shift your attention from what you don’t have in your professional life to things you’ve achieved. More specifically, think about how those accomplishments have brought you joy and fulfillment. You might notice that the stuff you don’t have becomes less important—at least for now.

Virgo

While you might already be playing with how you set boundaries, what your limits are, and your needs, the early spring eclipses combined with the Mercury retrograde are here to help you solidify them. You might find that the relationships you’re putting limits on aren’t good for you. Perhaps that means it’s worth seeing yourself out of them. The lesson here is that you can speak up to those who might be taking advantage of your innate kindness and care. If you utilize these energies, you’ll notice that you’re more comfy in your own skin.

Putting your needs first isn’t selfish—it’s a critical part of being able to show up for others. See if this spring you can set your sights on giving yourself the care you deserve.

Libra

This spring is about to be wilder than most, Libra! Starting in March, eclipse season is coming for the partnership sector of your chart, encouraging you to reflect on your one-on-one connections and how they make you feel about yourself. It’s a lot. One of the biggest things to think about here: What does reciprocity look like in your work relationships and friendships? Are you getting as much as you’re giving and vice versa? By the April solar eclipse, you should have some answers.

Based on what you find out, think about how you interact with others and how that fuels your relationship with them and yourself. If you find that you’re giving too much, try to pull back on the people-pleasing and consider setting helpful boundaries. If it’s the opposite, focus on improving your active listening skills and see if that boosts your relationships.

Scorpio

Jupiter is doing big things for you this spring! You’re no stranger to transformation, and over the next few months, you’ll have the opportunity to lean into evolution, breaking cycles that are holding you back professionally and in your relationships. But it’s not just about you. Between the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction in April and Jupiter’s shift into Gemini in May, you might find that you’re better equipped to hold space for friends, family, and colleagues who need to change. If you can keep them and yourself accountable without dwelling on the past, you’ll build a safer space for everyone to exist. While you shouldn’t be afraid to discuss your emotions, choose your conflicts wisely.

As you go through this season, think about setting up a daily routine that creates structure and keeps others (or…your own distractions) from taking up your precious time. Following a schedule might even make you feel a little more free.

Sagittarius

I see you over there avoiding confrontation, Sag. While attempting to keep the peace is honorable, it’s not always in your best interest to close off. This spring, the eclipses are asking you to reflect on your feelings. If any emotionally charged situations have been on your mind lately, try to get a better understanding of what emotions that brings up for you. Then, when Jupiter moves into Gemini in late May, you’ll be totally prepared to express those feelings openly and honestly with anyone who needs to hear them. Wearing your heart on your sleeve can be cathartic.

To brush up on your emotional education, spend time sitting with your feelings, whatever they may be. Maybe you don’t fully understand what’s going on for you or you just want to avoid feeling anything but positive. By skipping the toxic positivity trap, you’ll be more aware of your emotional state and find ways to move through those feelings without dismissing them.

Capricorn

Cap, you know you love control, but the spring eclipses are here to shake you out of that urge. By embracing the chaos—as much as you can—you’ll make space for a more fulfilling life, free from the constraints and limitations you’ve put on yourself thus far. Then, with Jupiter entering Gemini for a full year starting in late May, you’ll have a chance to get closer to your authentic self. The biggest lesson here is that you have the power to create a life that feels good, and trying to live up to others’ standards isn’t it. You might find that the only one holding you back is you.

To find some peace, try to work mindfulness exercises into your routine. That could look like taking a walk around the neighborhood without your headphones, getting present with the outdoors (and maybe your neighbor’s cute dog). You could also create a gratitude practice that reminds you of all the good things going on in your life.

Aquarius

When Jupiter and Uranus meet in Taurus in late April, don’t be surprised if the foundation of your life feels rocked to the very core. But don’t freak out! This just means it’s a great time to release experiences or beliefs that’ve made life harder than it needs to be. Jupiter is asking you to expand and grow while Uranus wants you to be free and try out new things. You’re outgrowing things right now, and that’s OK!

Not to be cliché, but decluttering for self-care can be an incredibly cathartic way to deal with this energy. By clearing out your living space, you’ll make room for new opportunities. Honestly, don’t knock it till you try it.

Pisces

It’s completely normal for your sensitive soul to have hesitations. And right now, money and work might be freaking you out. So take advantage of the lunar eclipse in March and the solar one in April. You can use these as an opportunity to hit pause on ruminations about the future (or maybe give it up for the foreseeable future). Then, when Jupiter travels into Gemini in May, take advantage of those good vibes by making an effort to notice the glimmers in your life.

When things feel scary or hard, take a sec to question the scenarios you can’t stop stressing about. Ask yourself: How likely is that to happen, and how would I get through if it did? Then, spend some time noodling on how you’ve gotten through hard things in the past as a reminder that you can handle whatever comes your way.

Your Self-Care Horoscope for 2024

The planets have some notes for you.

Surprise! 2024 is going to be a hell of a year. Overall, the vibes are very much: Here’s how much you’ve grown and changed and also here’s what’s coming next. Who doesn’t love that positive momentum? Still, your 2024 horoscope is not without some annoying but necessary challenges that warrant major self-care.

For starters, we’ve got four life-changing eclipses in the spring and fall. These astrological events enable us to align with our goals and help us work toward achieving the major milestones that are so important to us. Sounds great and all, but you should know that eclipses work like chaos monsters, shaking up our lives in a way that enables us to break out of unhelpful patterns (even if those bad habits are comfortable in the short term). These 2024 eclipses, which happen in relationship-focused Libra and individualistic Aries, as well as introspective Virgo and intuitive Pisces, will have you thinking a lot about how much you’re willing to give others at the expense of yourself (read: setting boundaries).

Like every other year in the history of years, 2024 will include Mercury retrogrades—three to be exact. These transits happen when Mercury (the planet that rules communication, thinking, and traveling from point A to B) appears to be moving backward through the solar system (it’s an optical illusion). As you might’ve heard, they’re famous for wrecking technology, travel, and communication in general. Those messy moments—which will happen in the spring, late summer, and late fall—are a great time to get focused on slowing down, sitting with your feelings, and keeping an eye on the way you speak to people (including yourself!).

Another planetary backtrack that’s bound to impact our feels is the Mars retrograde, which kicks off in December 2024. Mars oversees desire, drive, anger, and sex. Because this retrograde is happening in the sign of Leo, the sign associated with expression, stability, loyalty, strength, and pride, we might struggle to express emotions like anger or move on from situations or people that are holding us back.

These aren’t the only transits happening over the next year, but they’re some of the most likely to impact our mental and emotional status. Thing is, all of these transits can impact us in different ways. Some of us might finally be ready to release jobs, relationships, or goals that aren’t working anymore while others will be driven to achieve something new. You might even experience both of those feelings at once!

The way that all these planets impact you depends on your birth chart—or a literal map of where the planets were in relation to the place you were born at the time of your birth. So, I’ve put together some insights for what’s in store next year for each astrological sign. Feel free to read up on either your sun sign or your rising sign since both can impact the way these transits affect you. Plus, I’ll explain how you can take care of yourself during this next trip around the sun. Below, find the self-care specific to your 2024.

Aries

With the North node transiting through your sun sign, you’re bound to bank some wins in many areas of your life. In April, the eclipse will amplify those take-on-the-world vibes (even if it feels a little messy). The caveat is that when Mars, the planet that governs Aries, turns retrograde from December 6th to February 23rd, 2025, you’ll likely feel frustrated while trying to get your point across to others. You might feel like people aren’t listening or that you have to get really assertive. Those situations might even leave you feeling stuck.

To manage the fiery rage that can bubble up amid communication struggles (classic fire sign energy, to be honest), turn to activities that soothe your edginess. Maybe that’s a bubble bath with lavender essential oils and Epsom salt or scream-singing “All Too Well  (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)” in your car. Whatever makes you feel less tense is fair game.

Taurus

As Jupiter moves into Gemini on May 25th, you may find that setting boundaries becomes easier, making that your self-care mission for 2024. Take advantage of this newfound confidence by figuring out how to be more assertive or engaging in some healthy confrontation. Those two skills don’t come naturally to your loyal self, but you can use this energy to develop the fine art of saying no. You might just find that taking a pass helps you maintain healthy relationships while prioritizing your own needs.

Gemini

There’s a lot going on for you this year, Gemini. While Jupiter’s year-long transit through your sun sign starting May 25th boosts your confidence and puts all eyes on you, Saturn and Pieces, which will also pass through your sun, might make you feel judged.

To combat that narrative, spend time journaling the things you like about yourself. These could be personality quirks, professional or personal accomplishments, or anything you feel good about. Definitely make time for this on June 4th, when Venus and the Sun light up your sun sign, making it the perfect moment for self-love. Take a look at that list or add to it anytime you get wrapped up in what others think about you. What matters most is how you feel about yourself. You got this!

Cancer

As a cardinal sign (astro signs that come at the beginning of a season), you’ve got an innate drive to succeed at whatever you do. And the four eclipses happening this year will motivate you to set your professional goals extra high.

That said, Jupiter transiting your sun sign in July offers the chance to balance out a hustle mentality with lots of rest. Throughout the year, but especially in July, make a point to notice how your body feels. Are you taking care of your basic physical needs? Are you pushing past your physical and mental limits? If so, can you make space to take a break or even a nap? Give it a shot, and you might learn you get further by taking care of yourself than white-knuckling through it.

Leo

Your intense dedication to work drives you to find a career you’re emotionally attached to. And the planetary transits at the end of January and in April might have you recalculating your next move to find the perfect job.

It’s not weird if you feel destabilized or at a loss for how to shift your goals, but you can use Jupiter’s position in Gemini on May 25th to get a little clarity. On that date, and throughout the year, take time to figure out what your values are so you can gain clarity on the best direction for your career. Reflecting on the things that are most important to you can help you live a life that feels authentic and fulfilling. And that’s key to taking care of yourself.

Virgo

You’re great at appearing agreeable, even if you really, really don’t agree with someone. Sometimes that can be helpful, but it likely makes it tough for you to engage in necessary confrontation.

Unfortunately, Jupiter transitioning into Gemini on May 25th could stir up situations where you need to call out hurtful behavior from people at work or family and friends.

Instead of trying to smooth things over or bottle up your angst, think about how you can address the issue head-on by role-playing those conversations in your mind or enlisting a friend to help you act them out. If things are still tense by September 17th, you can use the vibes of the lunar eclipse to think about what boundaries would make you feel respected. Standing up for yourself is the ultimate self-care.

Libra

This year is going to shine a spotlight on your relationships—and maybe not in a fun way. You can thank the four eclipses, especially the two happening in your sign (a lunar eclipse on March 25th and a solar eclipse on October 2nd), for the drama.

For a lot of Libras, 2024 could spark anxiety around relationships (especially romantic ones), and that might be rooted in trauma from the past. Casual, right? Keep an eye out for self-sabotage, overreactions, worrying excessively, or obsessing over social media. Then, make it your mission to grasp a better understanding of what a healthy relationship looks like to you. You can journal about the issues coming up and how you might be responding to relationship conflicts in unhelpful ways. If you’re feeling stuck, enrolling the help of a therapist or couples therapist could be a good move.

Scorpio

When Pluto, your ruling planet, re-enters Aquarius on January 20th, you’ll have the opportunity to heal some deep stuff. Pluto will encourage you to rethink your fundamental beliefs and revisit challenging situations you might’ve been avoiding up until now.

Luckily, Jupiter and Uranus will be conjunct (meaning the planets are at the same degree of the same zodiac sign in the sky) on April 20th and may help you find creative solutions you never considered before.

A life overhaul sounds intimidating—and it can be—but leaning into your intuition enables you to identify what and who are good for you. To develop that skill, start by checking in with what you’re feeling and try to sit with whatever comes up. You’ll gain more emotional intelligence which you can use to guide your decisions.

Sagittarius

The eclipse on April 8th is bound to shake things up for you, and when Jupiter enters the relationship part of your chart on May 25th, you might start to lose sight of what you need to be happy in a partnership.

To regain focus, try out using positive affirmations that acknowledge just how amazing you are. Positive self-talk can improve your relationship with yourself, build confidence, and shift your outlook on life for the better. Plus, becoming a better friend to yourself can aid your relationships with others too.

Capricorn

Don’t be surprised if the 2024 eclipses force you to focus on finding a balance between work and play. As a Capricorn, you may pride yourself on material success or accomplishing big things at work, but if you’re not careful, burnout will come for you. Use the energy of these eclipses to notice how often you relax and what’s really important to you.

You can start by working a mindfulness exercise into your day. Over time, you’ll get more present and start thinking and acting more intentionally. That could look like shutting down the workday when your brain just isn’t having it anymore or pausing to take a lunch break. Bonus: Learning to be more mindful can keep you from spiraling out about the future or dwelling on the past, freeing up more time to rest.

Aquarius

In 2024, transformative Pluto starts a 20-year journey through your Sun sign, helping you grow in major ways. Because Aquarius is a rebellious, innovative, and creative sign, leaning into new self-care practices you’ve never tried before (and may even be considered a little unconventional) can help you make major developments as a person.

You could try something like energy healing, shadow work, or find your own way to work through your feelings, boost your self-esteem, and appreciate the awesomeness that is you. But don’t overthink it. Listening to a playlist that aligns with your mood or scheduling a mental health day to read that sci-fi book work too. Whatever self-care activity you choose, the goal is to broaden your perspective on life and bring you closer to your true self. Get weird, Aquarius.

Pisces

2024 is all about your place. Starting in the spring, Jupiter moves into Gemini, giving you a positive outlook on challenging tasks. Then, the Venus star point happening in early June makes it easier to connect with and communicate what you need to feel fulfilled in your life.

For you, that might look like finally organizing that junk drawer, cleaning out your garage, or figuring out the best layout for your living room. Whatever at-home challenge you’re facing, the goal is to tweak your space so that it’s aligned with your values and personal energy. Listen, cleaning out the garage or organizing your closet isn’t always fun, but freeing up your space helps future you be more efficient or just think more clearly while working from home.
